THE SPEC'd LIST : Inspiration and Conversation

SPRING | 2025

PATTERN PERFECT.

Quilts are like the love child of art and storytelling, each patchwork square whispering its own little secret, all stitched together in a cozy conspiracy. Quilting and interior design are basically twins separated at birth—both are all about layering textures, colors, and patterns to spin a yarn and tug at your heartstrings.

Just as a quilt is a patchwork of moments and memories, an interior space is a curated collection of your personal style, history, and experiences. The artful selection and arrangement of each piece, from fabrics to furniture, crafts a space, a tapestry of comfort, nostalgia, and creativity. Just as a quilt wraps us in warmth, interior design wraps us in a sense of belonging that's true from the home to the workplace and beyond.

With lively yet refined rows of interlocking concentric circles, Overshot is a contemporary interpretation of traditional textiles. It is named for a weave structure with a distinctive construction: as the weft yarn jumps or "shoots" over the foundational plain weave of the warp yarns, a decorative pattern layer is created.

This design takes inspiration from vintage American coverlets. Used as the topmost covering on a bed and distinct from quilts, these woven textiles were especially popular during the early to mid-nineteenth century. The earliest examples were made with an overshot weave, and this craft continues today.

For indoor and outdoor use as a floor mat or a Type III wallcovering. Terrastrand yarns with 25% renewable vegetable content. 100% phthalate free.

Crafted with care and respect for nature, Rio tables blend organic wood shapes with modern aesthetics, making each piece unique. Rio Madera features a walnut river with natural contours, framed by quarter-sawn walnut for a cohesive look.

Rio tables offer a range of depths from 42” to 53” and lengths from 72” to 240”, ensuring a perfect fit for any space. They are dimensionally stable with waterfall edges and can be used on various style bases. Despite their unique design, they weigh the same as standard veneer table tops and require similar cleaning and care.

Elizabeth Van Horne Clarkson - American ca. 1830

Elizabeth Van Horne Clarkson made this extraordinary quilt from hundreds of small hexagonal pieces of printed cotton. By designing a large and elaborate central medallion and a carefully pieced border, Elizabeth Clarkson elevated this common, methodical technique to create a quilt of great beauty.
